Electrical quotes carry two things a general template misses: remedial items counted individually, and the testing and commissioning time that customers assume is free. This worked example prices a consumer unit replacement with both of them visible.

Customer-facing note

The price covers the items listed and holds for 21 days. Power is off for most of the working day and the property must be accessible from 8am. Certification for the completed work is issued separately by the electrician carrying it out. Any circuit found to be unsafe once the board is off is reported to you and priced before it is repaired.

Figures are an original example in GBP at 20% VAT. Nothing here is a real customer, a real price, or a recommended rate — price your own work.

What this template gets right

Remedial items counted, not bundled
Three accessories at one rate is a single line with a quantity of three. If the customer drops one, the price adjusts without rewriting the quote.
Testing time priced in the open
Isolation, testing, and commissioning sit in the labour line where the customer can see them, instead of hiding inside the price of the board.
Access and downtime stated up front
The customer note says how long the power is off and when you need access. Both are the usual reason a board change slips a day.
Certification handled honestly
The note says certification comes from the electrician doing the work. EstimateBird prices and records the job; it does not produce electrical certificates.

Questions about this electrician quote template

Can EstimateBird issue an electrical certificate?

No. Certificates come from you or your scheme provider. EstimateBird handles the quote, the customer's acknowledgement, the invoice, and a signed job record of what was done.

How do I record the customer signing off the work?

Save a job report against the job with the work carried out, the materials used, the completion date, and the name of the person signing off. It is stored in your workspace alongside the documents.

Can I quote for the inspection and the remedial work together?

Yes, as separate lines on one quote. Many electricians quote the inspection first and raise a second quote for the remedials once the results are known — both documents keep their own number and acceptance record.
